Thank you to have clicked on this link. Allow me to give you some advices for the framing of your paintings, in particular if you have just acquired one of them here!

If it is about an original oil, I forward it to you framed soberly, and you can hang it directly at home just as it is. It is also a good insurance to protect it during transport.

I remind to you that an oil on canvas, and with a less degree, an oil on board (wood) is prone to variation according to the degree of hygroscopy. Often during a trip the canvas moves (tightens themselves or slackens - for transport it is advised to slacken the canvas a little, by withdrawing the keys between the stripes and by typing the outside of the frame to decrease the perimeter slightly by it). After having hung it, preferably a place not very prone to the variations in temperature - and of which never above a radiator - wait several weeks that the canvas was stabilized and put the keys back. If the canvas is slackened a little, it is enough to insert a little more the keys between the stripes.
Do not hesitate to contact me if necessary.

For original works on papers (watercolours), they are delivered framed or not according to your choice. The framing is carried out by a professional encadror of Honfleur, comprises a passe-partout, a bottom by using best papers and paperboards (without acid), and is closed hermetically to avoid any degradation, as well by moisture as by dust.

If you wish to built yourselves your framing, and, in addition to the pleasure of doing it, to realize substantial savings, I did not find simpler and less expensive than the framings proposed by American Frame (Save up to 70% off Picture Frames and Accessories).
These are those that I use during my exhibitions abroad.
The assembly is simple and powerful. And your saving 70%!

I remind to you that being given the brittleness of the watercolour, it should never be exposed to the direct rays of the sun.
Do not hesitate either to contact me if you have problems.

Assembly is easy, here work on paper with a metalframe

For works on paper, print or limited edition which are addressed to you rolled, it is wise to flat leave a few days work before putting it imperatively passe-partout mounting. It is preferable hermetically to frame work for its best conservation. Here again, those proposed by American Frame gave me whole satisfaction (for example:FRAME PACKAGE: SIZE: 19-1/2 H x 15-9/16 V COMPONENTS: (R58) Radius, Indigo(65) Fabric White Mat Board with 2 inch Border (PG) 3/32-inch Plexi-glass(MB) Standard Foam Mounting Board Quantity: 1 Total Amount: $23.10).
Note that to the original dimension of paper I added 2mm.
Do not expose prints to the direct rays of sun.

I will help you if you have some question or trouble.

Take care!
Pascal

Pascal

WHAT IS A GICLEE ?

What is giclée?
Giclée is a French word meaning squirt (better than spray) or inkjet. Pronounced Zhee-Clay, Zee-clay, Gee-clay.
A giclée is a high resolution digital print and is now a recognized fine art print category like lithographs and serigraphs. Giclée is considered the world's best technique for reproducing original works of art and for printing digitally created art and fine art photography. Giclée prints look and feel like original art. Prints are made on real artist materials such as watercolor papers and canvas.

Certificate of Authenticity
The Certificate of Authenticity gives authentic fine-art, limited-edition printmakers the opportunity to distinguish their work from posters or reproductions which some dealers would like to pass off as "prints." By offering the extensive information of the Certificate printmakers can guarantee the authenticity of their work and educate their buyers as to just exactly what they are spending their money on. A proper Certificate of Authenticity is an additional value added to a fine-art print insofar as it explains to the client in detail the various factors which intervene in its production and edition. The more details the Certificate includes, the more value it contributes to the print

Limited Editions
The concept of "edition" is basic to the world of serial art. It is the "limited edition" which permits printmakers and collectors to agree upon what is an original art print and what is a reproduction.
A Limited Edition is defined as a high quality reproduction of an original work of art that are numbered individually with the total number of the reproduction given (for example 3/175). Limited editions are printed on high quality stock and are signed and numbered by the artist. Once the edition is sold out, no more limited edition prints of that image can be produced which is what can make the print valuable on the resale or "secondary market." Originally (when printers used lithographic process) number of copies was lmited by the wear on the stone and better was the first copies. Today, with the giclée process, the first and last copy are exactly the same. So, why number the prints ? To give a value to your reproduction. Less there is copies, more value they have.

Artist Proof
Additional prints of the limited edition print run numbered (AP 1/10 or EA in French), for example. Originally again, artist proofs were...artist proofs. Today, we can see that is more copies added to the edition size....

Advices
Never display in direct sunlight.
Never expose to extreme temperatures.
Never rub the painting.
Never use water, cleaning solvents or chemicals on either side of the paper.
