 Hello  {{{firstname}}}

I just finish my 800th painting.

"I know, it’s not noticeable, particularly when one knows that Johannes Vermeer (1632-1675) painted only 35 oil on canvas in his entire life (each a masterpiece) and that, according to their galleries, K... or W... are making 500 originals (?) a year.

I signed opus #1 (the 20 previous trials didn’t count) on July 13th, 1976, so, it’s not a lot, even when working 340 days a year (OK, I’m also working as manager, accountant, driver, seller, warehouse keeper, frame maker, in charge of packaging and shipping, PR, webmaster...) but the traditional oil painting process has some imperatives. And it’s definitly (after 33 years) my way."

I told the story about the making of this painting with some pics, read it here in PDF or in my notes in Facebook. En Français ici.

 Before the busy summer of painting, I have ended my West Coast Exhibitions Tour 2009 at the SILENT PICTURES GALLERY, in SANTA BARBARA, CA., May 1-23, (Read more and pics), and then in LONG BEACH, at the SCUBA SHOW. Saturday, May 30-31 (Read More and pics).

I participated also with the Art-House Gallery in ATLANTA to The Canvas Project 2 : the goal of the exhibition was to create a visual encyclopedia using mini canvases and artists from all over the world.

I painted the words "Syzygy", "Substance", "Match", "Chocolate", "Recipe" (pictured below).

Exhibition took place at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport's Atrium Gallery in Atlanta, Ga, July 31 -Sept 4. Read more...
