I can't help myself not mentionning one of the numbered shark organizations I support, as this one has the cleverest name I could imagine: FINS

Fear Ignorance, Not Shark

Hi  {{{firstname}}} and dear Shark Lover.

Opening May 12, 2012 and remaining through January 6, 2013, the prestigious Ft. Lauderdale Museum of Art will host SHARK!, a major exhibition that merges art and science in documenting the world's never-ending fascination with these celebrated creatures of the sea.

Guest curated by acclaimed wildlife artist, author, and environmentalist Richard Ellis, SHARK! has been organized by the Museum of Art in association with Nova Southeastern University's Oceanographic Center.

Richard Ellis has chosen two of my original paintings in his historical and contemporary presentation of sharks in art.

I can't be enough thankfull to all of you for your support the last 35 years which brings my works for the first time in a major American museum.

The exhibition will feature classic chef-d'oeuvres by Winslow Homer, Charles R. Knight, John Singleton Copley, and by the star of contemporary art Damien Hirst. I will be glad to exhibit with my long time fellow artists Victor Douieb, Bill Wieger, G.Harvey, and photographers David Doubilet, Rodney Fox, Ron and Valerie Taylor, and Douglas Seifert.

Coincidentally, the show is in my hometown and I will be around. I would love to join you in the area during the next eight months of the exhibition.

The Gift Shop of the museum will provide some of my artworks, reproductions on canvas, paper and ceramics, towel, book and mugs.

Be sure to meet the author of "Big Fish" and "The Encyclopedia of the Sea", Richard Ellis, and the legendary "Shark Lady", Dr Eugenie Clark, May 12th. Meet also some of the artists - I will be there - during the SHARK Artist Talks Thursday, May 17 at 6:00 pm. All infos here.
