Welcome to the Project AWARE 2016 Silent Auction  in support of ocean protection!

Bidding on this silent online auction will open on Tuesday 27th September and close on Saturday 22nd October.
 
We have some fantastic dive prizes for you to bid on! Proceeds from the auction will go to Project AWARE Foundation.
Project AWARE is a global movement of scuba divers protecting our ocean planet – one dive at a time. Focused on the critical issues of Sharks in Peril and Marine Debris, Project AWARE empowers thousands of divers in more than 180 countries to work together for a clean, healthy and abundant ocean planet. Project AWARE Foundation is a global non-profit organisation with offices in the UK, U.S. and Australia.

Funds raised through this Silent  Auction will help Project AWARE tackle some of the ocean’s toughest challenges in our favorite dive sites, in our communities, and at the highest levels of government by:
  • Securing new protections for over-exploited shark and ray species.
  • Working with dive volunteers year-round to remove and report marine litter from underwater environments and pushing for policy changes leading to marine debris prevention at national, regional, and international levels.
  • Leading and inspiring the next generation of Eco-divers and using the power of scuba to influence change.
  • Strengthening partnerships with conservation groups, government bodies, responsible corporations, and others committed to eliminating marine debris and protecting shark and ray species at risk.
Bidding on this silent online auction will open  on Tuesday 27th September and close on Saturday 22nd October. Winners will be announced at the Sport Diver Awards 2016 Ceremony as well as  at one of the most popular international dive industry events, DEMA, 11-19 November! Winners unable to attend the Sport Diver Awards Ceremony will have their item sent by post when payment is received. Please allow a few weeks for delivery. July 9-10 Shark-Con 2016 Tampa, FL, solo show

Shark-Con 2016

The painter of Blue and Sharks exhibiting at the  SharkCon in Tampa.

Event at the Florida Fair Grounds, Tampa.  Saturday July 9th, 2016 from 9am-5pm & Sunday July 10th, 2016 from 10am-5pm.
SharkCon is an event that brings those who love the ocean together for a weekend of education and the fun of a Comic Con. SharkCon has something for everyone who loves the ocean. In the inaugural SharkCon we had experts (Sylvia Earle, Robert Hueter, Stuart Cove, Ellen Prager, Jim Abernethy, and more) give presentations that entertained and enlightened our guest to the wonders and plights of the ocean. We had water sports clinics to teach our attendees how to paddle board, kayak, surf and fish. The show had over 80 vendors from different areas of ocean fun (scuba, live aboards, charters, clothing, fishing, books, jewelry, fossils, paddle boards, vacation destinations, and much more). We had exhibits from the Florida Aquarium (animals, fossils, educational material), Mote Marine Laboratory Mobile exhibit, Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo (animals), SeaWorld (fossils, examples, learning materials, shark photo options, more), Sharks from Ocean Creations, a shark ride(like the bucking horse), children’s coloring tables, the Mascot from the Clearwater Threshers, Aquaman, a showing of Jaws at the Tampa Theater, and even more. All of our guests left after having been entertained, educated, and with a renewed passion to protect our oceans.

 

Feb 1 Boot Dusseldorf for Sharks Angels

Congrats to all the winners from the Mega lottery from Sam’s Tours held last week at the Boot Düsseldorf show in Germany. Big shout out to Judith Hoppe Tourism …Unlimited who made it all run smoothly. And special thanks to Marc Bauman, Vice President of Sam’s Tours, who was overwhelmed with the response: “Palau was the first country to establish a shark sanctuary and Sam’s Tours has always been very committed to conservation and shark protection. We are very pleased with the response to the lottery and are proud to be able to sponsor the valuable educational efforts of Shark Angels. We need to reach out to children at a young age in order to make them understand the importance of healthy oceans and healthy shark populations.”

July 5th-15th The 7th Annual Shark Celebrity Auction with Pascal

Starting July 5th at 9 pm EST and runing for 10 days the annual “Shark Celebrity Auction” to the benefit of the Shark Research Institute will feature high profile Shark experts and some involved artists as Victor Douieb and myself.

3 new sketchbooks about sharks  entered the Brooklyn Art Library to complete a serie of 15 volumes available to browse at this unique location.

Pascal’s appearance at the Library on Wednesday, March 25th,  Pascal have a solo exhibition at Beneath The Sea, Secaucus NJ March 27-29.

Oct 5 Philadelphia The Sketchbook Project 2014 Tour

On October 5th, The Sketchbook Project Mobile Library will be cruising to Franklin Square in Philadelphia, PA in a custom-built bookmobile showcasing thousands of handmade sketchbooks. Each book in the collection is catalogued and searchable by theme, medium, geographic location, and unique tags that each artist has created for their book.The Mobile Library stops are free and open to the public! You’ll also be able to sign up on site to participate and fill up a book of your own to add to the collection.

Sept 18-22 Toronto The Sketchbook Project 2014 Tour

On September 18th – 21st, The Sketchbook Project Mobile Library will be cruising to the Distillery Historic District in Toronto, ON in a custom-built bookmobile showcasing thousands of handmade sketchbooks. Each book in the collection is catalogued and searchable by theme, medium, geographic location, and unique tags that each artist has created for their book.

The Mobile Library stops are free and open to the public! You’ll also be able to sign up on site to participate and fill up a book of your own to add to the collection.
