SharkCon 2025 – Day 2: A Sea of Gratitude and Connection As the final day of my 8th solo exhibition at SharkCon came to a close, the tide of gratitude rose even higher. Sunday was filled with meaningful reunions, vibrant new encounters, and heartwarming stories shared across generations of ocean lovers and art admirers.
It was a privilege to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Jaws amidst the SharkCon community, whose passion continues to inspire both cinematic and artistic legacies. I’m deeply thankful to the event organizers and volunteers for their flawless coordination, hospitality, and dedication to making this weekend truly memorable.
From returning collectors to curious first-time guests, each visitor brought fresh energy and perspective to my work. Friends I first met 20 years ago at U.S. dive shows stopped by to reconnect, and new acquaintances offered insights and enthusiasm that lit up the booth.
📸 Many pictures from Day 2 will be shared soon—most are already featured on my Facebook page at “Pascal Lecocq painter.”
And with that, I’m thrilled to announce I’ve officially signed up for SharkCon 2026, happening July 18–19 in Tampa. The journey continues, and I can’t wait to dive deeper with you next year.
SharkCon 2025 – Day 1: Immersion in the Blue Saturday at SharkCon was a splash of creativity, energy, and heartfelt connection as I opened my 8th solo exhibition at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa. With the halls filled with marine enthusiasts, divers, and art lovers, Day 1 offered a magnificent welcome back to the vibrant SharkCon community.
Visitors explored my surreal blue worlds—where sharks soar and dreams drift beneath the waves—through original paintings and newly released prints. From first-time guests to long-time collectors, every conversation was a celebration of shared inspiration.
This year’s show was extra special as we also honored the 50th anniversary of Jaws, a cultural icon that continues to unite generations with its enduring mystique and oceanic legacy.
I’m profoundly grateful to the organizers and volunteers for their flawless coordination and warm support, and to everyone who stopped by the exhibition—your enthusiasm reminds me why I keep painting in blue.
📸 Many pictures from Day 1 coming soon. Until then, thank you for diving deep with me.
SharkCon 2025: Pascal Lecocq’s 8th Appearance – A Dive into Art and Connection From July 12–13, the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa transformed into a vibrant celebration of marine wonder, community spirit, and artistic imagination. I was honored to showcase my latest work at SharkCon, marking my eighth appearance at this dynamic ocean-focused event.
This year held special meaning as it coincided with the 50th anniversary of Jaws—a cultural milestone that shaped generations of ocean lovers and storytellers. My heartfelt thanks go to the dedicated organizers and tireless volunteers who made the event seamless and welcoming.
Over two days, I had the joy of reconnecting with collectors, friends from previous dive shows—including some met over 20 years ago—and welcoming many new visitors drawn to the surreal beauty of my paintings. From original canvases to limited-edition prints, each piece sparked conversation and shared reverence for the sea.
The SharkCon community continues to inspire me with its energy, passion, and warmth. I look forward to sharing photos from each day, capturing the smiles, stories, and fin-tastic moments that define this unforgettable experience.
Until the next tide… thank you for being part of the journey.
CREATIVE VISION category, The Pascal Lecocq Award of Excellence.
Stunning submissions once again this year —hats off to all participants! Many creations echo those submitted and awarded in the past decade: views from above and below, striking visual effects, the raw beauty of the underwater world, and models in apnea… The Creative Vision Award has been designed to emphasize both Creation —artistic skill and an imaginative mind— and Vision, giving the artwork a dual purpose: to bear witness to the beauty of our Blue World and to artistically warn us about our impact on it.
CONGRATULATIONS Pietro Cremone – Winner of Creative Vision category OGPicoty 2025.
The Creative Vision Award has been designed to emphasize both Creation —artistic skill and an imaginative mind— and Vision, giving the artwork a dual purpose: to bear witness to the beauty of our Blue World and to artistically warn us about our impact on it. With that in mind, the most powerful image this year is CV-027. More than a thousand words, it speaks through nature’s horror, saying everything. If her cry cannot reach our ears, we cannot remain blind to its message. Let’s hope it touches our hearts.
CONGRATULATIONS Eser Pasa – Runner Up of Creative Vision category OGPicoty 2025
Celebrating Pure Beauty and Artistic Mastery While the concerns for our planet remain, let us also take a moment to honor pure artistic brilliance—those who capture and share the marvels of the underwater world through their unique vision. This award recognizes not just the beauty of the ocean but the artistic eye that preserves and conveys its magic to the world.
In a field I am less familiar with—digital imaging, gaming, and visual effects (VFX)—where the criteria differ from those of classical painting or photography, it is the message of the image, along with its uniquely creative composition, that compels me to honor this submission. The irreversibility of our planet’s destruction is alarming, and this artwork expresses it with both power and impact.
CONGRATULATIONS Martin Colognoli – Honorable Mention of Creative Vision category OGPicoty 2025
The Ocean’s Veil—A Tribute to Symbiosis A delicate and original sea net for a mermaid, symbolizing the harmony between life above and below the water’s surface. This artwork beautifully captures the essence of symbiosis, weaving together nature’s fluid elegance and the artist’s vision to remind us of the invisible ties that unite all living beings in the great blue expanse.
Nice to meet another Painter of Blue! the talented Tomoto Sue and her Okinawa seas with pigments and sand at the Walls Tokyo gallery in the neighborhood of Yanaka where we visited the magnificent studio of the sculptor Asakura. #wallstokyo#art#blue#pa… instagr.am/p/CsdNyVF…pic.twitter.com/5I2O…
